»First, I made the drawings using a rapidograph and a ruler. I wanted a computer drawing or a computer-processed drawing. But since no computer was available, I started to think like one myself. What is interesting about this type of thinking is that it doesn't do optical corrections. The relations among elements in the drawing are consequently exactly what they are. You could also say that they are not hidden in any way, which is often the case with hand-drawn drawings, it happens subcontiously. Later, when I got the chance, I entered all the drawings in a computer, I processed some of them further and combined them. Doing this I realized that the execution of a work of fine art has great magic in itself and that computers rob us of many things. They are a great tool for simulations, though. I tried to arrange previous drawings so they would make up logical units. I also added text which shows, in retrospect, how I thought about the drawings. And yet, it is such a small part of the thinking process. I designed the drawings to be completely flat, there is no illusion of a third dimension. Nevertheless, each composition in a drawing can be translated into a sculpture.«
