Lecture: Zoran Smiljanić, Metka Dariš
September 2nd, 2011
6 p.m., Mini teater, Križevniška 1
Film credits might never have existed at all if it weren't for the film workers' union, which indirectly insisted on them. They evolved parallel to the history of film, from utter preises to directors who thought them superfluous and just abolished them. During the 50s and the 60s they got new meaning through the work of Paul Bass, who designed film credits for decades and worked for director Scorsese, among others. Others followed, tyography was brought to life, it fit into the scene or cancelled it out completely. Film lover Zoran Smiljanič and designer Metka Dariš will talk you through this and other milestones of the relation between typography and film.
